My Core Beliefs and Values

Non-negotiable

What I believe at my core that I will not move away from, regardless of who disagrees. Politics and religion have manipulated people to lose their humanity and strip others of theirs and I will not fall into that trap.

I believe every person deserves to live with dignity, safety, and opportunity. A just society is one where people are respected not in spite of their differences, but because our diversity strengthens us. We have to work on getting to a place of "live and let live."

I believe Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion are not political buzzwords—they are commitments to fairness. For too long, many communities have faced barriers based on race, identity, gender, or heritage. Acknowledging those realities and working to correct them is part of building a more honest and equitable society.

I believe Indigenous people deserve recognition for their history, sovereignty, and the lasting contributions they have made to this country. Their cultures and communities should be respected and protected.

I believe Black Americans’ history—including slavery, segregation, and systemic discrimination—is inseparable from American history. Recognizing this truth is necessary if we want to move toward genuine equality.

I believe Hispanic and Latino communities enrich our country culturally, economically, and socially. Immigrants and their families are part of the fabric of America and deserve fairness, respect, and opportunity. "Illegal aliens" is hateful and all people deserve due process.

I believe LGBTQIA+ people deserve the same rights, protections, and freedoms as anyone else. No one should face discrimination or violence simply because of who they are or who they love.

I believe transgender people deserve dignity, safety, and the freedom to live authentically. Their humanity should never be a political talking point.

I believe women deserve full equality—over their bodies, their economic opportunities, and their place in leadership and society.

And above all, I believe that every human being deserves to be treated with kindness, respect, and compassion. Our religious beliefs or political affiliations should never be used as justification to deny someone else their humanity.

Progress, to me, means expanding freedom and dignity—not limiting it.
